Intelligent Verbatim Transcription is a level of transcription that leaves the process of transcribing an audio recording to a certain amount of discretion by the transcriber. Our expert transcribers will use their experience to omit certain elements if they add no meaning to the script. This is mainly ums, errs and repetitions and false starts. This is the level used for most transcription work – it is recommended for research interviews, group discussions and focus groups. NB: Intelligent verbatim transcription does not mean that AI has been used in the process. Intelligent verbatim simply refers to the expertise of the transcriber in selecting what is relevant and what can be excluded. It could perhaps be called “Expert Verbatim” as this would be more accurate. Other companies call intelligent verbatim ‘clean verbatim’, but they are much the same thing.
